Tiago Viúla de Faria (DPhil Oxford, 2013) is the founder of NEMUS. He is a research fellow of the Instituto de Estudos Medievais at NOVA University Lisbon, where up till recently he served as a member of the steering committee and coordinated the research group “Territories and Powers – a ‘Glocal’ Perspective”. His main interest has been in external relations and policy-making in West Europe, especially between Portugal and England, having worked more broadly on issues of cultural and literary transfer, in the context of late medieval diplomacy. He is the editor of Philippa of Lancaster and the Court Culture of Medieval Portugal, forthcoming with Palgrave MacMillan. He leads the interdisciplinary Project FALCO, funded by Portugal’s Science Agency during 2022 and 2023 under the moniker “Hypothesising Human-Animal Relations in Medieval Portugal”.
