The FALCO Library at NOVA University of Lisbon’s Instituto de Medievais is a small reference collection specialising in the medieval human-animal world, with special regard for birds of prey and for practices of hunting. Titles include Portuguese, English, French, Italian, German, and Arabic scholarly texts, spanning from primary sources to history and methodology. Most of them are out of reach due to cost or inaccessibility in other Portuguese research libraries.

The FALCO Library has a focus on research and intended to assist investigators and advanced students working on subjects falling within the environmental middle ages and human-animal relations generally. All items are on-shelf and readily accessible to library readers.

The FALCO Library can be found in the Biblioteca Vitorino Magalhães Godinho, located in NOVA’s Campolide campus.
